Mini Sessions – How does it work?

Spring and Autumn mini-sessions work a bit differently to a standard family photoshoot. But don’t worry I can explain it all for you. When can I have my mini photshoot?

I run the Spring & Autumn mini-sessions a couple of times a year. Usually on a weekend, late April for the Spring colours and late October for the gorgeous autumnal fallen leaves. Please click the link below to fill out the form and I can contact you when I have dates available to book.

Where will my shoot take place?

I run the sessions in a local Beckenham park. Being outside in either Spring or Autumn gives a lovely natural feel to the pictures and having space in the park really helps keep the children relax and stay comfortable in front of the camera.

How long does it take?

Each mini-session last 30 minutes which is usually plenty of time to get some different shots of you and your family.

What should we wear and what do we need to bring?

I will send an email to you ahead of your shoot with some clothing ideas. The suggestions I send will help you when looking through your wardrobe for ideas.
If you have young children it is also worth bringing one of their favourite books and a ‘treat’ to keep them happy and relaxed.

What if my children won't co-operate?

Please don’t worry. As a parent myself I understand your concerns. Every child is different. I get that. So before the photoshoot I contact you to find out some information about your child so I can chat to them comfortably and put them at ease while we’re taking pictures. I’m always happy to be a bit silly in order to get the smiles and giggles we want from them. And if they are feeling a little shy, I have a bag of special props that normally gets them relaxing into a smile at some point.

What happens if it rains?

I’m constantly checking the weather in the few days leading up to the day. If rain looks likely then I ask that you can be available the next day to reschedule. Failing that we can wait until my next mini sessions date or have a refund but this happens surprisingly rarely.

What happens if I need to cancel?

If you or one of your family is ill we can postpone it to another time and I will do my best to re-arrange your shoot for the next available mini sessions date.

However if you need to re-arrange/cancel for other reasons £40 will be non-refundable.

How do I book?

When do I pay?

I ask for full payment at the point of booking which holds your date and time. A contract is also sent to you for signing and meust be returned within 24 hours to confirm your booking.
